Everyone has that one person in their life that they idolize and have a strong love for. Besides Mr. Hoyt let’s see who WHB students look up to.

According to Everyday Life Global Post, more than 75% of teens in the United States look to relatives, coaches, teachers, and community leaders as role models.

Examples of good celebrity role models are Michael Jordan, who was cut off his basketball team in high school and became one of the best basketball players of all time, and Oprah Winfrey, who came from extreme poverty and became of the most successful media figures in history.

Senior John La Mura says Donald Trump is his role model. ‘’He’s a successful person who shows great enthusiasm, has great passion, and knows what he’s doing.   He has that ‘’killer instinct.’’

Sophomore Hailey Ciolino idolizes Justin Bieber.  ‘’He follows his dreams and doesn’t let anyone bring him down and he’s absolutely gorgeous’’

Is having a celebrity as a role model a good or bad thing? John says, ‘’It’s a little of both, although he wasn’t the best liked, he created a great name for himself.’’

Hailey thinks it’s a bad thing. ‘’I would rather have a role model I can talk to and ask questions to.”

Some students claim one of their peers is their role model. Sophomore Julia Lewis says John La Mura is her role model. ‘’He’s always positive, he’s nice to everyone, and he’s not afraid to say what’s on his mind.”

Sophomore Justin Smith says Tim Hoare is his. ‘’He is the sun to my horizon, the moon to my night, and the butter to my bagel. Tim is a great guy and he is someone that everyone should look up to. My goal in life is to some day become half the man that Tim is, which should be everyone’s final goal in life.’’
