As Santa Claus comes to town, so do new trends and warmer clothes that are on everyone’s Christmas list. Being on the North East coast means snow, wind and freezing weather. To keep warm but remain stylish, sophomores Delaney Ruga and Scarlett Doyle say that they usually go with comfortable outfits to school that are also warm. They mention that sweatshirts and sweatpants with Uggs are their go-to and that it’s “easiest in the morning.”

Delaney said, “I’d rather be sitting in class all day comfortable and warm than anything else.”

Scarlett also agreed saying, “Being up late studying, at school sports or working on homework, I don’t really have lots of time to pick outfits out so I generally end up throwing on comfortable outfits in the morning.”

It’s hard to find cute clothes that will also keep you warm. Two popular clothing brands are Edikted and Brandy Melville. Brandy has the best simple and cute sweatpants that are perfect for the weather, and Edikted has the best cute pants and long sleeves.

For sweatshirts try White Fox, Lonely Ghost and different surf shops. For shoes, their go-to is Uggs or sneakers. Most teens get their outfit and style inspiration from social media, such as TikTok and Pinterest.

Sophomore Nate Methven, says that his outfits also mostly consist of sweatshirts and sweatpants. He says for winter he likes a “North Face coat and a Nike sweatshirt.” He says he also gets sweatshirts from our local surf shop, Island Surf. On his feet he usually goes with Uggs or Nike Dunks.

While school is in session and so is winter, it is most popular to dress comfortably and warm. Sitting in a classroom and these desks all day, as a student, you would want to be comfortable.
