Twitter Takes Over

Twitter Takes Over

Facebook is slowly losing publicity while Twitter rises in the ranks. Lately, the social media site to have is Twitter.

Back in middle school Facebook was the way to communicate with friends, add new people you may have never even met but have mutual friends with, and update statuses. Jenn Keneiby believes, “Facebook is so outdated. They updated the pokes, made new emojis, and always put me in random spam groups and it’s getting out of hand. Twitter gets right to the point so if you haven’t made one yet, get it.”

Twitter is a place where you can describe your feelings, share what you are doing, or tweet to friends in 140 characters.  Forcing you to keep your thoughts nice and short is one of the best parts of Twitter, though some people may disagree. Taylor Gregory said, “I like Twitter because it’s easy to use and most of my friends have it but the tweet limit gets annoying after a while.” You can also still share pictures on Twitter that will stay on your profile. Julia Delcolle thinks, “Being able to see what other people are thinking and even retweeting them is the best part about Twitter.” Not only can you follow up on what your friends are thinking, but also you can follow famous people and keep up with their lives. Marc Schlecht, who is new to Twitter, thinks, “It’s really simple to work and funny to see what other people are saying.”

Both sites are a good way to keep in touch with friends and family, but Twitter seems to be taking over.
