During their daily lunch period, students have choices: bring their own or buy what the school is offering, I wanted to find out what students prefer to eat during that coveted 42 minutes.
Junior and future culinary expert Jacob Grucci said, “It is more convenient to buy my lunch.” Freshman Mynor Martinez agreed “ I do not want to carry a lot to school so buying is easier.” Junior Greg Hulbert disagreed with the two, saying he “buys because it is cheaper and he does not really like what the school sells,”
Some schools in the area offer chains, like a Subway, in the school for lunch. All the students I interviewed said it would be a new and great addition to school lunch, in that it would give students more of a variety to choose from. And while many might consider the pizza to be a unique and tasty lunch, Jacob, Mynor and Greg all feel that the pizza here is “disgusting and not appetizing” to them.
So whether it is pizza or sandwich, wrap or roll, what it really comes down to is the individual and what each person likes. For those who don’t like school lunch you can always bring your lunch!
