Even though we are all waiting for the spring weather to kick in, we can pass the time watching college basketball March Madness. The NCAA tournament is in full swing. Be sure to watch and follow one of the more intense parts of the college basketball season.

This year the NCAA March Madness tournament is already well underway and many or saying this year is a great tournament. Sophomore Devin Laube said, “This year’s March Madness can only be considered as magnificent. It’s one of the best in a while.” Devin also expects Michigan State to win it all but is hoping his favorite team University of Texas will pull through. Devin added, “I’ve recently based my whole life around March Madness to get my head in the game.”

This years number one seeds are Florida, Arizona, Wichita State, and Virginia. Close behind them in the number to spot are Villanova, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Kansas. Other favorites are number three seeded Duke and number four seeded Michigan State. Last years returning national champs, Louisville, are the fourth seed in the midwest.

Sophomore Eric Caldwell believes Michigan State will win after what he calls, “Spending long nights watching ESPN and trying to get my bracket together.” He added, “I made the right choices but I constantly second guess my decisions.”

Ryan Biamonte and Julia Lewis agree that there is a lot of hype behind the March Madness Tournament this year. Millions of people have filled out brackets on the ESPN website, and even more on other websites. Our own President, Barack Obama, even filled out a bracket picking Michigan State to win it all. All of these people are attempting at winning the one billion dollar jackpot offered by Quicken Loans.

Who do you plan on having winning the NCAA March Madness tournament this year? The number one seeded favorites? A popular number three or four seed, or the low seeded underdog that goes on a streak of upsets. Whatever your choices are be sure to enjoy this year’s March Madness.
