Juan Cardenas Plata, a recent 2013 graduate and soccer player at WHBHS, tragically died in a motorcycle accident last week.
Juan, who is remembered as “the nicest kid in the building,” according to his coach Mr. O’Brien, will be memorialized tonight, Wednesday, July 10th, at 6pm in a soccer game in his name at the high school. The game will be played against Hampton Bays HS soccer players who agreed to take part in the memorial.
At the game, people will be asked to sign a poster and Cardenas’ jersey, which will both be presented to his family along with the game ball.
Students and faculty are asked to spread the word of the game, in hopes that as many people as possible will come to pay respects. It would mean so much to Juan’s family.
