After ironing his Brooks Brother’s suit, you can find Corey Bentz either memorizing encyclopedias, or playing chess with his pals down at the grill. Of course, by “suit” I mean a white bandana coupled with a “stay grounded” sweatshirt. And by “memorizing encyclopedias” I mean replaying songs by Dj Pretty Lights every chance he gets.
For those of you that haven’t had the pleasure of seeing the “The Corn Roostuh” skate through the halls, he is a senior here at WHBHS that leads a life that revolves around one thing, “enjoying every part of life.” In order to find out exactly what this means, lets spend a day in the life of Corey ‘Corn Ball’ Bentz.
After waking up halfway through second period, Corey slides out of bed, ties his bandana, and heads downstairs after a prayer to the 47 concert tickets hanging from his wall. With a kiss for his momma, Corey heads out the door with a s’mores Pop-Tart in one hand and a long board in the other.
In order to prepare himself for the trials of the day, Corey gets his blood pumping with a 15 rage session, blasting dub step music from the time he leaves his house, to the time he enters the school parking lot.
Finally strolling into class at the beginning of fourth period, Corey grabs a camera and prepares for his favorite class, photography, where he is described by Mr. Erickson to be a “wonderfully eccentric human being.” Today, Corey will be spending photography class diligently wandering the halls taking pictures of what ever he deems interesting, whether it be a staircase or a doorknob. While salivating over the thought of a bacon egg and cheese, Corey concludes the class by visiting his favorite classmates, while asking for critical analysis of his doorknob pictures.
A few lunch periods, and a couple of “guidance appointments” later, Corey finds himself concluding his school day with solid mix of Bob Marley and Doritos. “I find it childish to let an electronic bell control my life.”
