Westhampton Beach seniors headed to the Country Club last month to learn about different businesses skills to prepare them for life after high school.

This year marked the 19th annual senior skills breakfast. It was held at the Westhampton Beach Country Club. WHB’s business teacher Mrs. Demchak “started the Skills Breakfast as a way for seniors to learn from a mentor in their desired future careers.”

Students were required to wear business attire. There were a total of 70 student-mentor pairs this year. Senior James Benia said, “It was a great experience, and gave us seniors exposure to real life professionals and mentors.”

This event is a great opportunity for students to explore their interests outside of school from professionals. Mrs. Demchak says, “Student-mentor pairs have formed professional relationships through this event that has led to job shadowing opportunities, internships, and employment.”

Next year will mark the 20th annual Senior Skills Breakfast.  The Class of 2024 will join mentors on Friday, October 27th, at the Westhampton Beach Country Club.
