Whether it is to get a fresh, new beginning or just to celebrate the exciting night with friends and family, everyone is looking forward to the New Year.
A tradition that people all over the world take part in this day is making a “New Year Resolution” or commitment they make to a project or often a change in lifestyle. According to my research, 45% of Americans make a resolution, but out of those people only 46% of them keep their resolution past six months. Most people’s resolutions are positive ways to change their lives but the students in WHBHS responded a little differently.
Most of the students responded by saying they are planning on having more fun this year and just enjoying themselves more than they did in 2012. Senior Corey Bentz says he wants to “get weirder then last year” and Taylor says she just wants to have the time of her life. They both said that they would like to keep up these resolutions until next year.
Although most students do not have plans for New Years Eve yet, some of them already know what they are going to be doing. Ryan Fennell said he is going to be in the city to watch the ball drop. Pat Dean is going to be “hanging out with friends, and going to a little soirée-not sure what it is but it sounds like a great time.“
Good luck to all students making resolutions this year!
