Last Friday our school hosted its spring Blood Drive and according to business teacher Mrs. Demchack, “At least 80 pints of blood were donated!”
Sophomore Raymond MacQuill said he wanted to donate blood to save lives and help people out. He said it was a great experience and afterwards he ate some good food!
Every two seconds, somebody needs blood. Just one pint of donated blood can save up to three lives, plus it only takes an hour to donate. There are two ways to donate blood, either by machine or by a nurse. If you got it done by the machine you donated two pints, and if a nurse took your blood, you donated one pint.
Overall, the Blood Drive was a great experience for all that attended and numerous lives were saved. Next fall our school will be hosting another blood drive, make sure to stop by and donate!
