You might find him surfing the local beaches of Westhampton, skiing the best powder from Colorado to Vermont, or rock-climbing wherever he can. WHB senior Chris Rothe is considered by most, “extreme.”
In his free time, he likes to surf, climb, and just do anything that involves being active and outdoors. “Schoolwork and sports definitely consume most of my time during the week.” Chris has been on the varsity lacrosse team for two years and is a great contribution to the team. He added, “but when I get the chance I love to be outdoors, whether it’s boating and hanging out at the beach or surfing for a few hours; it’s always good to get out.” When Senior Kyle Rubin was asked about hanging out with Chris, he said “It’s always an adventure with him, especially during the summer. When he takes us out on the boat to the bay or the ocean, its always a blast.” Senior Remi Bader says, “He is the nicest and most sweetest guy in our grade, just a great kid all around.”
Chris has a genuine interest in a wide variety of subjects and has visited many cool places. He spent his freshman year going to high school in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and he loved it, especially with all the skiing and the environment.
Studying at Colgate University next year, Chris Rothe will have a harder time than usual trying to kill his free time considering there aren’t any beaches to surf. But he will definitely taking advantage of the killer ski slopes.
