Mmm…time for lunch! When your stomach’s growling, there are plenty of locales in WHB to get some good food.
While many of you are still stuck in the cafeteria, you will eventually have senior privileges and be able to leave school grounds for a precious 40 minutes. Depending on their taste, many seniors pick a different spot to go out to lunch.
Michele Cardo’s favorite lunch spot is Goldberg’s on Main Street. She loves going there because “it’s the only deli with seating, and there is a large variety.” Michele usually gets egg, cheese, salt and pepper on a plain flagel. Go to Goldberg’s and pick up a student lunch card, which allows you to get certain lunches for lower prices!
Ciro Sciortino enjoys going to lunch at the German Deli, right off of Main Street on Sunset Ave. It is often referred to as “G Deli,” and is known for their iced teas. Ciro says he likes going there because “they love me” and because of Tom Catullo. He usually gets a bacon egg and cheese with one of their famous iced teas, and spends around 5 dollars.
Colette Girardin loves going to Big City Burgers for lunch, which just opened this year, and is right down the street from the school. She enjoys going there because it is “convenient and they have quick service.” Colette usually gets a cheeseburger, which is inexpensive with the student deal they offer during student lunch hours and after school until 5 p.m.
Going out to lunch every day can become expensive. Lexa Smith only buys lunch once a week, and then brings lunch from home to wherever her friends are eating on the other days. Occasionally, Mara Terchunian and her friends go to her house during lunch, which is in Westhampton. There are still options to get out of the cafeteria and be frugal at the same time.
No matter where you choose to go, you can get a great lunch from any of these locations in WHB.
