Despite the 2-7 record of the WHBHS Canes in the 2025-2026 season, game after game they still dominated in one aspect, the big bad offensive line, aka “The Fat Uglies.”
From game one to game eight, “The Fat Uglies” dominated every defensive line they faced, solidifying their run game against any opponent. With two giants at right tackle and center, JP Peters 6’4, 315 pound, Saint Anselm commit (right tackle), and Ben McGee 6’3, 300 pound, Endicott commit (Center), in the trenches, the Canes offensive line made a feared and respected opponent amongst Suffolk Division III football.
Head coach Bryan Schaumloffel is excited to see what the Offensive line brings this upcoming season. Schaum said, “I’m really looking forward to seeing the offensive line in action this upcoming season, we have lots of returning guys with tremendous experience who have been working hard in the weight room to get back and at ‘em this season.”
The coaching staff also has tremendous motivation for this season and are confident in the team’s ability to work together and move the football. The Canes are motivated to make a comeback after last season’s lump.
The total weight of the big men up front is 1240 pounds weighing in just above a full grown male grizzly bear and just 300 pounds below the average college offensive line. With each lineman weighing over 240 pounds the team has big plans to move the ball and crack skulls this season.
Look out for rising seniors Bizz (Liam Brand), J-Dog (Jaedyn Cobb), Wendell (Andrew Wendell), and rising junior Sonny Hebbard as the new “fat uglies” to bring WHB football back to the Suffolk County finals.
