The SATs can be a scary and stressful thing to many high school students. But WHBHS provides SAT preparation classes to make sure students come completely prepared for the biggest test of their lives.
Current SAT prep student, junior Michael Rizzi, is confident in his preparation but says, “You always have to go with a positive attitude.” A positive attitude can go along way especially when dealing with the stress of the SATs and expectations from others around us.
Former SAT prep student, Lazarus Reguiero, who has already taken the SATs and prepared very well prior to the test is well pleased with his test score. Participating in group SAT preparation classes he said “I studied vocabulary on flashcards for the English section and I also practiced math questions, frequently.”
He also said, “My best advice would be not to procrastinate and begin studying early. It is a lot to learn and will take some time to properly understand.”
One of the important factors in doing well in the SATs is getting help from the teachers. Here, at WHBHS, we have Mrs. Wiles. She is the current SAT prep teacher for English and she advises students to learn vocabulary five minutes a day, acquire 400 words and do Method Test prep 10 or 15 mins 3 times a week. She said, “You can do it, It’s all memorization. Anyone can succeed at the SATs; you just have to work!”
The SATs is not something to be scared of, it’s something to embrace with determination, hard-work and of course, a positive attitude. The next SAT test at WHBHS is November 2nd.
