The WHB junior prom is taking place on April 24th at Westhampton Country Club. Junior girls have just under two more months to find their perfect prom dress.
When looking for dresses, junior girls keep in mind uniqueness and personal style while also staying on trend, with a focus on fabrics, colors, and silhouettes that reflect them as a person.
Prom dress trends for 2026 have been leaning more towards pastel, light-colored classy dresses that reflect WHB beachy spring atmosphere, while also highlighting elegance over boldness.
Juniors Colleen McCormack and Emily Albrecht stated that they believe the most popular color to be seen at prom will be a light shade of pink and yellow because it reflects the spring season.
Many students are also choosing more silhouette styled dresses compared to ball gown or mermaid styles, favoring more classic simpler looks. Above all, individuality and having a dress that stands out is a major factor.
Junior Tierney McEntee, who is still deciding between dresses, said, “When choosing my prom dress, the most important thing was finding something that makes my eyes look good and isn’t a basic dress that everyone else has.”
Most girls have been buying their prom dresses online. Allie Mohrmann, who bought her dress on Pepper Mayo, explained, “Ordering prom dresses online is great because you can see lots of options quickly, and if I don’t like it I can just send it back and return it.”
Popular sites for prom dresses include, Babyboo, Windsor, Revolve, and House of CB.
Dayla Seward, who is wearing a magenta sparkle and satin dress said, “Fashion depends on personal styles because a lot of people’s dresses reflect their personalities.”
WHB girls are getting ready for the big night and finalizing their choices. While trends definitely influence style and color, students agree that the best dress will be one that shows their personality and makes them feel the best.
