What seemed like just another new shop coming to town is actually something many Westhampton Beach locals are already talking about. PopUp Bagels, the social media famous bagel company known for its hot, fresh bagels, and specialty schmears is opening on Main Street. 

PopUp Bagels first became popular through social media and word of mouth. The shop is known for serving bagels straight out of the oven that are meant to be eaten right away. A variety of cream cheese flavors, “signature schmears,” often change to keep customers interested.

Westhampton local Travis Hefter said his first experience at PopUp bagels was in the city with a friend.

Hefter said, “The bagels were steaming hot, crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. Definitely one of the greatest bagels I’ve ever had in my life.”

Travis mentioned he is excited PopUp Bagels is coming to Westhampton Beach, but thinks it could impact other bagel shops in town. Hefter said, “I hate to say it but their prices are good and the bagels are great. I think it could damage places like Goldberg’s and Hurricane.”

Leah Ravin had a different opinion. Leah does not think it will hurt local bagel stores. Leah said, “I think people who are not on social media will stay towards local stores like Goldberg’s.”

She said she first saw PopUp Bagels on TikTok and later tried it with a friend. Leah said, “I went to Roslyn PopUp Bagels with one of my friends. I thought it was cool how they had different flavors every week. These are my favorite bagels and I am so excited for PopUp Bagels to come to Westhampton.”
