Thirty-two minutes, four quarters, ten girls, and one common goal, to win. At press time, the Lady Hurricanes have a 6-7 record this year, making them still eligible to make the playoffs!

Junior guard Kennedy Skala explained that the team works very hard in practice and puts 100% into their games. Everyone wants to make it to the playoffs.

Kennedy Skala, Kathleen Mensch, and Emma Gristina all started playing basketball in the HYAL league in elementary school and have stayed with it until now. Emma, now a senior, explained, “It’s sad knowing that it will be my last year playing basketball for WHB but I’m excited it’s my senior year playing and I love everyone on the team.”

Kennedy Skala believes the team has improved tremendously since last year with the addition of height in the new players, Shea Casey, Camryn Bancroft, and Kaila Gagne. The team’s speed on the fast breaks also help score the important and valuable points in layups.

The Hurricanes record of 7-7 is now better than league rivals ESM of 5-8. The Hurricanes beat the Sharks by one point the first game they played them and the second game they played they lost by five points in double overtime. The game was back and forth the entire time and the crowd was going crazy.
