Have a Splendid Spring and Summer

Have a Splendid Spring and Summer

During the summer, the Hamptons is a destination to lay back and relax. But many struggle finding other things to do with their free time. We have some affordable and local  things to do  with the warmer weather coming up.

Westhampton Beach village offers shopping to outdoor dining. There are many available options. Shawn Mett, owner of Island Surf, shared his thoughts and experiences of owning a popular surf shop in the Hamptons. He said, “The summer months seem to fly by when you’re working seven days a week it’s very rewarding yet exhausting. The reason I still love to do it is because it makes people very happy and you are selling them a lifestyle that is healthy and adventurous.” Their most popular items are the traditional Island Surf logoed pieces. He said, “Now it’s our corded crewneck sweatshirt since Zach Bryan has been wearing it! Many summer/beach necessities can be found in Island Surf. If you are looking for beachwear, sunscreen, beach-like jewelry, sunglasses, surf gear, sun hats, Island Surf is the place to go.

During sunny seasons, many flock to beaches in the Hamptons for a nice day of relaxing, tanning, and swimming. But finding a good option to spend your beach days can be tricky. We suggest Cupsogue, with nice waters, clean bathrooms, and a small bar for food and drinks. Its a good place to have a sunset picnic, take pictures with friends, lay in the sun, go sunrise swimming and they also have live music. Check out Tikijoes for their schedule.

For music lovers, summer concerts are a great activity in the summer. Northwell Health in Jones Beach in Wantagh has a variety of artists performing throughout the warmer seasons.  One of the most popular events being BLI summer jam, where popular artists all perform in one night.

For foodies, Margarita Grille is located on Main Street, and can be found right around the corner. Although it isn’t a seasonal restaurant, it gets super busy and is most popular during the summer months. They offer Mexican and American food. It’s perfect for family and friend gatherings. Junior, Antonella Russo, has been working there for about a year now, and shared with us some recommendations, as well as the restaurant’s perks. The most popular items are the Red White and Blue Tacos, which feature shrimp as the meat of choice. Their outdoor and indoor seating is available. When it becomes very busy on weekend nights, they have fun music, bright string lights, and overall happy vibes. It’s perfect for an after-beach meal on a sunny day or family dinner.

There’s many affordable and local activities to participate in this summer to enjoy and appreciate the warm weather. Any of the above can be great memories and experiences with friends and family.
