With Barbie & Ken and Taylor & Travis looking to be the most popular costumes of 2023, students should use these tips on how to have the best costume this Halloween. Students at WHBHS can struggle with ideas for the perfect costume; either it’s too popular or too bland.

Sophomore, Scarlett Doyle, is in a couple’s costume with Drew Calloway. She says, “I thought of being a cop and prisoner, and we are buying it from Amazon and Spirit Halloween”. Scarlett thinks that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are a cute couples costume as well because it is “relevant and funny”. There are also many other ideas for couples costumes like The Joker & Harley Quinn, Lola Bunny & Bugs Bunny, Catwoman & Batman, and a Dalmatian and a fire-fighter.

Most boys simply wear a jersey as their Halloween costume. The reason is, sophomore Luke Hefter said, “Probably because it’s easy and most boys have jerseys.” Most boys only wear a basketball or football sports jersey on Halloween, which is an easy at home costume, and is inexpensive if you have one at home.

To buy costumes visit Party City, Spirit Halloween, Amazon, buy from all separate companies of your favorite clothing stores, and you can always DIY it! If basic but cute costumes spark your interest, there are mummies, Aquamarine, Tinkerbell, Freddy Krueger, boxers, or Alice in Wonderland.

Some ideas for duo costumes are Wonder Woman & Captain America, white angel & fallen angel, Little Red Riding Hood & Big Bad Wolf, Maleficent & Aurora, Buzz Lightyear & Woody. If you want to add one or two more people there are galactic cowgirls, vampires, princesses, horror movie villains for example: Ghostface or Pennywise, or kiss, marry and kill.

If you don’t want to be outdated this year, some things you should consider not being are frat boys, M&Ms, a black cat, or Thing 1 & Thing 2, hippies, Powerpuff girls, or gold diggers. If you are thinking about any of these this year, you might want to consider different options.

Whatever you decide to wear this Halloween, hope you have a spooktacular time!
