Student Spotlight: Master of Sigs Figs... Zach Zaffuto

We all have that one person who is always full of bright energy. The person who makes us a little less worried and a little more happy with a contagious smile and a positive attitude. For many of us that person is sophomore Zach Zaffuto.

Starting off with his cool name (an alliteration), Zach is one of a kind. Being the life of the party, he’s always cracking a joke and socializing, especially towards new faces.

While talking to Zach, I noticed how he had trouble answering questions about himself; I also noticed how open and friendly he was, not only to me but everyone around us. It seemed as if everyone in the class had known him forever and automatically clicked even if they just met.

My first encounter with Zach was towards the end of freshman year when I walked into his Biology class. He was sitting next to one of my good friends and immediately started  a conversation with me, which ended up in a new friendship.

When asked what type of person he strives to be, Zach so confidently replied, “A courageous, intelligent young man.”

Zach has a YouTube channel where he wishes “to entertain the unentertained.” He aims to make his videos funny but at the same time cringe-worthy (and for the record they are).

One of Zach’s friends, sophomore Jemma Spitaleri says her first impression of him was how funny he was. “He’s really friendly, and not in the creepy way. He’s also very trustworthy.”

Another sophomore, Cassidy Canburg can easily describe her close friend Zach as a “doofus.”

Mrs. Lotito, new Chemistry teacher, says Zach has made her first year here memorable. “Zach is a very hard-working student and gives me a high level of effort every day. I appreciate that but at the same time he is very entertaining and has a jovial attitude.”

She continued, “Zach, don’t ever change your positive attitude. It’ll take you very far in this life.”
