Green and gold flooded the street in WHB  during the 2019 St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

On March 9th the WHB annual St. Patrick’s Day took place in WHB town. The parade has and always will be a time to have fun while simultaneously celebrating the Irish culture. Irish or not, the WHB parade is always a blast!

With bagpipes, sirens, candy throwing, and Westhampton Beach very own pep band, there’s so much entertainment all around!

Eamon Kobel, a junior at WHBHS, got to play his infamous bagpipes and made the crowd roar.

Eamon says, “it’s like I’m the center of the crowd with everyone cheering and enjoying the playing. It makes me feel good and my hard work pay off.”

Fellow sophomore, Morgan Pilo says, “ I love seeing someone from the high school play the bagpipes; it really makes the parade.”

Eamon’s bagpiping skills were not the only aspects that hyped up the crowd, the Bideawee float was also a crowd pleaser. People love seeing and petting the dogs that walk down the parade. Erin Gilvary also says, “ I love dogs and love when Bideawee incorporates their rescue dogs into the parade.”
