The Westhampton Beach girls’ varsity basketball team took on East Hampton on Friday, January 12th. The final score was a blowout, 66-21.

The Hurricanes, with a 3-5 record to start, dominated the 0-9 Bonackers from the beginning.

With the help from key players Isabelle Smith, Lindsay Rongo, and Layla Mendoza, the Hurricanes easily took the win.

Smith scored 26 points, Rongo scored 10, Mendoza had 7, while both Annabelle and Juliette Seeliger each had 6.

Player Hollie Schliecher said, “Our goals for the season are to make playoffs and be 8-8.”

Senior Caitlin Gallagher added, “I’m excited to see where the rest of this season takes us.”

Come down to the gym to support your Lady Canes as they take on Sayville, this Thursday, the 18th!
