WHB, What’s Your Favorite Christmas Movie?

WHB, Whats Your Favorite Christmas Movie?

Cookies, cheery songs, family, and holiday movies are a few of the things that get people around the world in the Christmas spirit. Through a recent poll on the WHB News website, students in the High School got to vote on their favorite Christmas movies. Elf, Home Alone, It’s a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, The Polar Express, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Miracle on 34th Street, The Grinch (the cartoon), The Santa Clause, Frosty The Snowman, and The Nightmare Before Christmas were the movies that students were able to vote for.

The results are in, and through 168 votes (drumroll please), Elf was voted WHB’s favorite Christmas movie, with 45% (76 votes) of the voters choosing it. Not a bad choice, if I do say so myself. Home Alone came in second (24%, 40 votes) and the classic, It’s a Wonderful Life (17%, 29 votes) was third, with A Christmas Story (17%, 28 votes) only one vote behind it. The full results can be seen in the picture on the side.

Senior Aidan Bean thinks that Christmas movies add to holiday spirit because, “They’re something for family and friends to do together and they get everyone in the spirit of the holidays.” Bean’s personal favorite Christmas movie is Home Alone, “because of the way Kevin (the main character) defends the house from the two idiotic burglars who try to break in while Kevin’s family is on vacation in Paris.”

Be sure to watch some of your favorite movies over the upcoming break, and Merry Christmas WHB!
