Committed

Committed

Most students in high school know where they are going to college by the end of senior year. Fortunately for me, I’ve known where I was going since the summer going into junior year. It didn’t come easy, actually it was extremely hard.

I spent every summer since 6th grade playing lax all summer long. It doesn’t seam like a lot of work considering I was playing the sport I love all the time, but going to a tournament every weekend of the summer can get old. But my dream of playing Division One lacrosse wasn’t going to be easy to accomplish, and I knew that playing all the lacrosse I could was necessary.

Committing to a college right after sophomore year seems insane I know, but at the time, most of the friends I played travel lacrosse with were already committed. When I first visited Fairfield in October of my sophomore year, I had never heard of it before, but as soon as I got there I fell in love with the school, the coaches, and the people. I stayed in touch with the coaches all year and I would speak to them on the phone every once in a while. College coaches really know how to flatter a person.

Once summer came around I knew it was my time to pick a school. I made my verbal commitment (which was all I could do at the time) on August 1st of the same year, and I couldn’t have been happier with my choice, Fairfield is the perfect school for me.
