The WHB Boys Varsity Volleyball team lost in the county championships after having a great season, for the second year in a row. The boys have faced many challenges and have overcome them by working hard together as a team.

Sophomore Seth Terry shared his thoughts on the pressure of being on varsity.“Every mistake I had I always thought like I should be on JV but by the end of the season I got confident and it was good,” he shared.

“Although we came up short, it was a good season,” said Senior Dan Haber. “There was a lot of progress and development with each play, making it to the county championship was a goal that we didn’t come out with the win, we gave ESM their toughest game of the season.” Dan is also committed to Lewis University and will continue playing volleyball in college.

Senior Connor Farnan ended his volleyball career this season and is satisfied with the outcome of his last season. “It’s a very difficult way to end my career, losing in the county championship for the second time in a row,” he said. “Although we lost, I’m proud and more than happy with how my team played and how we were coached. I ended my career with pure happiness and thankfulness.”

Coach Tuttle elaborated about the challenges the team had faced and what the team would look like next year without Haber and Farnan. “we had a very difficult schedule this year so we took a couple more losses than we were used to, but it helped us build some grit and kept us focused on improving,” he stated. “We were playing some great volleyball at the end of the season.”

“Next Year we are losing a very talented group of seniors, but we are excited for the next group of guys to lead the program,” he explained. “We had a very successful JV team, so we will bring up a bunch of guys from that team along with a couple of very solid returners. We will certainly look to make a playoff run again next season.”

Although the boys didn’t come out with the win, they still had a great season together. They also overcame challenges and will be prepared to win next year.
