After New York State decided to postpone sports, the WHBHS athletic department found a way to let students have the opportunity to play sports: intramurals.

With intramurals there has to be a set of rules to try and keep everyone healthy. Many new rules are in place, including no buses after sport, no water fountains, masks must be worn unless  12 feet away from other people, avoid sharing equipment, and any of the school’s equipment must be sanitized after each use.

There will be an assortment of sports such as boys and girls lacrosse, boys and girls basketball, football, baseball, softball and many more to choose from.

Sophomore Jack Kelly said, “I like what the school is trying to do with the intramurals but I still wish there were actual sport seasons.”

Intramurals will begin at 2:30 p.m and end at 4:30 p.m.  Students only attend intramurals on their remote day.

Three different seasons allow different sports. Season 1 goes was from October 5th to October 30th, Season 2 is from November 2nd to November 24th, and Season 3 is from November 30th to December 23rd.

These dates could possibly change, however, if there happened to be a reason for school to not be open.
