Brooke Alpert Commits to Fairfield

“Best all Around” Brooke Alpert is all set for next year after officially committing to Fairfield University. The soccer star is taking her talents to Connecticut where she will be playing soccer no longer as a Hurricane but as a Stag.

“Ever since I started playing soccer I always dreamt of playing soccer in college,” Brooke said after officially signing to Fairfield University in early February.

Deciding to play a sport in college is a huge decision for high school athletes. Brooke said, “At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to play on a division one team because of the commitment and time but when I had my last game for my high school season I realized how much I would miss it if I didn’t play.”

There were other options for Brooke before she decided to commit to Fairfield. After looking at Villanova, Marist and Quinnipiac she found that Fairfield “was the best fit.”

Fairfield University is classified as Division 1 in the National Collegiate Athletic Association for a majority of its athletic programs. Being able to balance schoolwork and soccer must not be easy but Brooke said, “Fairfield is a small enough school where it will be easy enough to balance academics and athletics and since I’ve been balancing both all of high school it shouldn’t be a problem.”

She continued, “The good thing about playing a sport in college is it allows you to have friends who have things in common with you right from the beginning of school.”

Congratulations to Brooke and good luck to her as she begins the next chapter in her life!
