It’s the start of the new year, which means many people use this time to set goals for themselves. Setting a New Year’s resolution is a yearly occurrence for most people, but the challenge is keeping it.
The most common New Year’s resolutions are exercising more, losing weight, eating healthier, and quitting smoking. Let’s see if some of the WHB student’s resolutions line up with these.
Sophomore Niko Lean says, “I want to dunk, so I will do more squatting and plyometrics.”
Senior Kane Abbott says, “I hope to maintain a 90 average by studying more.”
Freshman Brandon Reaves says, “My resolution is to get taller and do better in school, so I’ll sleep and study more.”
Sophomore Jared Brown says, “I need to get my grades up, so I’ll study more and start doing my work on time.”
Junior Kate Sweet says, “In the new year, I want to manage my time better so I’m not always stressed.”
Sophomore Malakye Sampler says, “I’m gonna get 80 or higher grades for the rest of the year and I’m going to accomplish it by using my time wisely.”
Junior Ellie Mett says, “My resolution is to be at school every day by 7:20 everyday because I’m late everyday. I’ll accomplish this by not going on my phone in the morning and picking out my outfit the night before.”
Junior Erik Olsson says, “I hope to get jacked and I’m going to do it by going to the gym everyday.”
Although only under 20% of people actually accomplish their resolution, let’s hope the odds are better for WHB students. Happy 2026!
