Freeze for Lunch

Freeze for Lunch

For seniors this year, parking on the south side of the building is a must unless you want to go for a nice cold hike. This year, in an effort to prevent underclassmen from going out to lunch, seniors must leave their student ID card at the front desk when leaving for lunch. That’s reasonable, but parking on the side is limited and in these freezing temperatures it is very frustrating for those who park in the back of the school to walk to the front.

Some seniors have proposed allowing seniors to hand in their card in the back as well. For many, the issue isn’t giving the ID card it is the hike in cold weather. Seniors Evan Gagne and Max Pastor both agree that it is “extremely annoying.” According to Max, “We are all seniors. We have nothing to hide handing in an ID card but in the morning when there aren’t any spots I don’t like the fact I have to walk around the whole school to go to lunch.” Rosalina D’Agostino also agreed saying, “I honestly hate it and they should really do something about it; it’s freezing outside.”

In an interview with principal Mr. Herr, he said, “I could not agree more that this winter has been very cold and I understand the students’ frustrations. It is a new rule and I am willing to sit with class officers to come up with a reasonable solution. Hopefully in the coming months the weather will warm up.”

The answer comes as good news to the class of 2015 but looks like it pretty much leaves the current senior class stuck with the rule. If you also disagree with the idea feel free to let your class president know. This blogger certainly will…
