Sophomores Get a Glimpse of the Future

Sophomores Get a Glimpse of the Future

On December 4-5th, over 70 WHB sophomores spent two days visiting five colleges in the New England area.

Touring colleges is a great way to figure out what type of college you prefer and gain insight to the college life style. Marc Schlecht said, “I met students and saw the dorms, which helped me to get a feel of life in college.” On the tours, the students also visited the classrooms and toured the campuses.

Out of all the colleges, there were definitely favorites. “Providence was my favorite because it was bigger than most of the other schools, and there were a lot of different options for majors,” said Marc. Devin Laube agreed with Marc, because he thought the campus was very nice. Bella Recchion said, “Bryant University was my favorite, I loved the atmosphere and view, and they had a really great athletic department.” Marc disagreed with Bella because he thought that Bryant was too small of a college. When it comes to college, one size does not fit all.

The school college trip was a fun and exciting experience. Bella said, “I loved being able to see so many colleges and being able to ask all the questions I had about the colleges.” However, the college trip wasn’t just about touring colleges.  Most of the students who attended the trip enjoyed themselves doing other things as well. For example, Devin said, “My favorite part of the trip was the bus ride and everyone on it because we were singing and rapping and having a lot of fun.” Marc also thought the bus ride was the best part of the trip.

It was a really great way for sophomores to come together as a class, but also really think about their futures.
