When you’re in the WHBHS nurse’s office, you feel like you are in a family member’s living room.  While helping you with your illness, Mrs. A will most likely solve all of your problems.

Mrs. Andarakis has been the full-time nurse at WHBHS since 2007.  Before that, she was the substitute nurse for five years.

Mrs. A started on her nursing journey in 1985 with her first job as a nurse assistant in Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola. Her journey began at Holy Family which is now current Saint Anthony’s High School.

She decided to become a nurse because “I thought it would be a good profession for me.”

An interesting fact about Mrs. Andarakis is that in high school, she went to France for her junior year. She now is almost fluent in the language and even served as a chaperone on the school trip to France a few years ago.

Sophomore, Natalie Ehlers said “Mrs. A is so nice. Last year, on the college field trip, I left my money on the bus and she let my two friends and I borrow money to buy sweatshirts”.

The students at WHBHS are lucky to have a nurse who cares for us so much. We thank Mrs. A for all the love and support she has given us.
