One of our favorite security guards, Ms. Rosa Langhorne, has worked at WHBHS approximately 10 years.  Throughout her years of working here, she says her favorite thing is “the interaction with the students.”

She is always cheerful and ready to help, but while interviewing her I saw a different side of her. Ms. Rosa was very shy about being interviewed for The Hurricane Eye. I thought that was very odd since she is always outgoing.

Loved by the students for her tough, yet kind ways, Ms. Rosa brightens everyone’s day. Frankie Gorman, a sophomore, said, “She’s really funny, really nice and is a friendly face to see every morning.”  Senior Zach Ellenhorn agrees with Frankie and wishes to thank Ms. Rosa for all her work.

One of Ms. Rosa’s co-workers, security guard Mr. Ray, said, “I enjoy working with Rosa.  She really does love the kids as a whole and is very level-headed.”

Not many know about her life outside of school. Ms. Rosa joked that no one knows her age. She shared, “I have two sons. One is 26 and the other is 15 years old.”

Another interesting fact about Rosa is that she served in the Army for six years: three years on and three years off. Be sure to thank her for her service and her help at the high school.
