As the school year wraps up so does spring sports. The boys lacrosse team ended with a 9-7 record. Although they missed the playoffs, they had a good year.
Captain Finn Drake had a huge accomplishment this season. He set a new program record of 81 points in one season tallying 52 goals and 29 assists. Finn said, “Breaking the record felt amazing especially in the last game of my high school career. It really showed that the hard work I have put in has paid off.”
Goalie Charlie Beasley achieved a record of his own, setting a new program record of 502 saves through his varsity career. Charlie said, “It feels good to see hard work pay off. I’m glad that I was able to hit this mark because it puts an exclamation on a great career.”
Next year is looking good for the Canes. Captain Finn Drake said, “I think next year Dan Shannon and Riley Maire will lead the team as seniors because they had a great junior season to grow as players and leaders.”
After this season, 14 out of 26 player roster won’t be returning. Riley said, “It’s going to be a tough adjustment there will be a lot of young guys that haven’t played varsity. They will need to get more experience before they can adjust.”
A lot of work needs to be put into the off season so the Canes are ready to go in the spring of 2026.
