With a new coaching staff, better training, and new players, the boy soccer team is hoping to bounce back after last year’s tough 1-14 season.
The team is coming into the 2025 season with more motivation and a new mindset. A big change for the team in the 2025 season is the addition of new coaches to their coaching staff, which includes head Coach John Paga and assistant coach Eric Beilski, and they look to help pick this team back up.
“There have been new additions to our coaching staff. With new head coach Paga and our assistant coach Beilski will be with us, they have us putting in double the work to be ready for the new season,” said rising junior Nate Cangelosi.
The new coaching staff has been changing things around this off-season in terms of more practice and preparation. Nate said, “The expectations for the team next year are high; we have put a lot more offseason work in, and it will show this upcoming season.”
Along with the new coaching additions, the boys will also add more talent from the new players from the sophomore class and junior varsity pull-ups. This helps the team build chemistry, not only for this season, but future seasons as well, and has good depth in case a player needs rest or goes down.
“The addition of new coaching staff will play a big part, also, our offseason program and new players coming up to varsity will help,” said rising junior Dougie Owens.
With new coaching, mindset, motivation, and a stronger work ethic, the boys look to bounce back from last season and are determined to make a push for the playoffs.
