Former WHBHS volleyball player Emma Citarelli is helping coach girls varsity volleyball this season.

Emma played volleyball all four years of high school at WHBHS. Because her college, University of Tampa, overcompensated and didn’t have room for all students, Emma is home for this semester .

Instead of not doing anything while she’s forced at home, Emma is working, playing travel volleyball, and taking her classes this semester at Suffolk Community College while assisting coach the girls varsity volleyball.

Being a coach is a new role for Emma. She advises girls starting out to “try their hardest, don’t be afraid to fail, don’t be afraid to branch out of your comfort zone.”

Reilly Mahon, a current player on Emma’s team said, “I think she’s a good coach. She’s able to connect with us easier because she is closer with us in age.”

Emma will be attending Tampa in the spring and she will be playing club volleyball.
