Over 10 clubs were showcased at the WHBHS club fair, held on Friday, September 30th in the HS cafeteria. This fair gave freshmen a chance to explore different clubs and to find a club that fits them best. There is a club for everyone!

WHBHS senior Ryan Wagner, who is entering his second year in the National Junior Honor Society, was at the club fair and gave some feedback on why he chose the club (Society). He said, “It looks great on your college application.”  The National Junior Honor Society is one of many well-known clubs in the WHBHS. They help out the community and are involved with many school events like the Blood Drive, the Candy Buy Back program, which helps to support our troops.

Senior class president Daniel Purkis was also at the fair who is part of the Student Government.  “It’s nice to help out my fellow classmates,” he said.  “It’s fun and you get a lot of community service hours out of it.” Daniel is also a member of the Interact club and Student Government. Daniel joined the Interact club because his sister had been in the club when she was in high school, and he had heard it was a good way to get involved and get community service hours as well. The Interact Club’s biggest events are the Spaghetti Dinner and the Food Pantry.

Emelye Ender, a freshman, gave me the inside scoop on what she thought of the Club Fair. “I thought it was really helpful to get involved and helped me learn a lot about the different clubs”. Some of the clubs that stood out to Emelye were Youth To Youth, Student Government, Friends For Friends and Key Club. “ I joined them because some of them help with community service.”

Whether you are looking for community service, a way to meet new friends, or something to keep you busy after school, there is a club for you.  Listen to the announcements for the clubs’ meeting times.
