Katie, a 17 year old from East Moriches, is a senior this year. Next fall, she plans on attending a college in the Northeast with a major in Journalism. She plays the flute in our school’s Pep Band and Symphonic Band. In her junior year, she was presented the Creative Writing award and put together a portfolio of all her fiction works. When she was 15, she entered a writing competition on a whim and ended up winning first place of a cash prize and getting published in a poetry book. Since her sophomore year, she has been playing outfield on the Varsity Softball team and various travel teams. In her spare time, she is usually relaxing with friends, listening to music, or taking naps. This is her first year writing for The Hurricane Eye, and she is excited to find a new dimension to her writing.
