Ethan Dornfeld, a senior at WHBHS, is in his second year writing for The Hurricane Eye.  He plays the drums, last year starting the WHBHS SKA band, The Blazing Beaverducks.  Ethan also plays in pep band, drum line, pit band, and jazz ensemble, along with experimental projects of his own.  He loves music, all genres, and sees as many concerts as he can, about 15 in the last year.  Every Friday, Ethan recovers the prepared unsold food from the cafeteria, bringing it to the men’s shelter in Riverhead.  He is also the point person of the east end for the Snack Wrap, a program that gets elementary school students involved in feeding the hungry.  Ethan volunteers at the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center, working as a hospital, education, and rescue volunteer, along with writing his own column, “Ethan’s Corner,” for the center’s newsletter.  Ethan wants to be a screenwriter after college, working on writing teams for a T.V. shows.  One day, he wants to write a show of his own about the struggles of a band.
