The community has been raving about the market in town. Best Market has taken over Waldbaums. It has been open since May 25th and it is filled with many creative features an ordinary supermarket does not have.

This past Fall Westhampton Beach’s local Waldbaums was shut down due to bankruptcy. They renovated the building and opened a Best Market for the town. The residents of Westhampton Beach are loving everything about the new supermarket. Jenna Piro, a senior at Westhampton Beach High School, said “It’s very nice inside, it’s welcoming, everyone is friendly. It’s also very clean.”

The new Best Market has many new features both the local residents and city people love. There is a smoothie bar where you can purchase a fresh fruit or vegetable smoothie while you shop. They make the smoothies with whatever ingredients you want and make them when you order it so you know it’s fresh. You can also purchase hot or iced coffee, which is also fresh. A Best Market employee said, “We roast our coffee beans here and grind them when you order your coffee so it’s fresh.” You can also choose between three different beans when you order your coffee. The supermarket also consists of organized food sections such as kosher, sushi, seafood, and meats. Mrs.Tracy, a teacher at Westhampton Beach said, “Whoever designed it really knew how to address the needs of the community, it was well thought out, they also have a great selection of fruits and vegetables.”

So far the new supermarket has been a huge hit for everyone. The market is clean, organized, and gave many unemployed people a new job. “It’s nice to see all the students who work there.” Mrs.Tracy said. Hopefully, the new market will keep it’s reputation up in the community.
