What started out as a hobby soon became a promising chance at stardom for three strapping young gentlemen from our school. Riley Owens, Jake Lorefice, and Francesco Logozzo – better known as Jetty Four – are singing their way to the top here in WHBHS.
You may have seen them playing at Battle of the Bands (and taking home first place), the Beach Bakery, Homecoming, the Oyster Festival, or numerous school concerts – always sporting their signature barefoot-suit-and-tie ensemble. Their acoustic John Mayer-inspired songs paired with classic Rock n’ Roll never fail to get the crowd excited with songs they know and love, making Jetty Four a definite crowd pleaser.
Jetty Four “came out of a simple mutual passion for music,” said Riley, who plays guitar for the band. They got together with the idea of sharing their passion with the school at the beginning of last year, consisting then of Riley, Jake, and on the drums, Ethan Dornfield, who is now in college. During those early practices they all knew a piece was missing, so soon enough they asked Francesco to sing lead vocals and play keyboards, and as Riley says, “The band just took off from there.”
A year later these three musicians are entertaining us at almost every school or town event. “It’s really fulfilling,” said Francesco. “Being in Jetty Four reminds me why I love being a musician. The support from the school is amazing.” The band is very important to these musicians. Jake, the bassist, says, “I’m just here to play music with my friends and have the time of my life. In the end it is all about the moments we create and the feelings we can stir in others.”
The band members definitely plan on keeping the band together after graduation. “Jetty Four certainly has a bright future ahead,” says Riley. “Let’s just say you’ll be seeing a lot of us in the coming months or even years!” For now, make sure to keep your ears open for their next gig – you won’t want to miss it!
