Youth to Youth is a club taking place in WHBHS and meets directly after school on Thursdays. This club takes the priority to teach others about the use of alcohol and drugs.Youth to Youth has taught the consequences that come along with drug and alcohol use and  has made students think twice before “partying too hard.”

In this club students can start to see more specifically the things that drugs and alcohol can do with substance abuse.Youth to Youth can almost be a safe zone for teenagers at WHBHS. Students can go there for the meetings and everyone there will be happy with you and be nice because in this club there’s no judgment placed because students are there to just help others. Many students join this club their first year in high school because people are told it is the most fun and you can do great things, which is very true. I asked Sophmore Julia Decolle who was apart of this club last year what did you get out of being in this cub, “I learned how drugs and alcohol are not good for you its a great club to learn how to be safe and know whats good for you, there’s also a lot of fun field trips on the side for community service hours too.”

Youth to Youth doesn’t just put an impact in our school but travels to other schools to tell everyone about the things that every teen needs to know. Here in our school we do things such as assemblies during lunch to talk about it with games and getting everyone involved and we also by putting up signs around our school to remind everyone about the club and to remind everyone about the outcome.This club does its best to succeed in their mission to spread the knowledge of alcohol and drugs and the downfalls with it and to acknowledge people. Kayleigh Walker said “teenagers in high school really need to learn about the consequences about drugs and alcohol.”

So if your willing to help and join this club after school on thursdays they will be able to spread the word and teach everyone the consequences they might not have known before.
