Book Review:I Hunt Killers

I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga is written in a way that you can get inside the killer’s mind, you can feel like you are part of the amazing chase of a serial killer. While reading this book you will feel different emotions; you’ll feel love, angst, happiness and of course tragedy.

Imagine if… your own dad was a serial killer, how would you feel? How would you react? Well, Jasper Dent (aka Jazz) didn’t have any other option but than to deal with it, to observe the ways how to kill without being caught; taught by his own father the world’s most famous serial killer, known as ‘Dear Old Dad’ in Jazz’s perspective, but in reality Billy Dent. But the fact of not getting caught came to a stop when the police caught onto Dear Old Dad, because he ‘got sloppy.’ His motto was always ‘dont crap where you eat’ meaning don’t kill where you live. But soon enough he did. When everyone found out who Dear Old Dad actually was Jazz moved in with his grandmother, who he assumes has Alzheimer’s’s because his mother also ‘left’ him but was that actually the case? Having no one ever looked at him the same. Minus his best friend Howie who is a type A hemophiliac and his lovely girlfriend who is obsessed with theater. When murders start showing up again the same way Jazz viewed his father to kill meanwhile he was put away in jail for the past 4 years. He wanted to prove he wasn’t finishing what his father couldn’t so he went into the police department and joined the chase of these killers. The struggle of having no one look at you the same, no one believe a thing you say, no one trusting you. All Jazz is trying to do is prove he is in the right… not the wrong.
